Navigating the divorce process can be daunting. None of us ever expects that we'll have to go through it, so when we are faced with the prospect of divorce, many of us feel lost and unsure of where to begin.
In this mini-course, I will guide you through the broad strokes of what you need to know in order to confidently move forward - from the range of options you have to choose from in navigating the process to the resources I wished I'd known about when I was going through it.
Your Instructor
Kim West (JD, MBA) is a writer, speaker, coach, and the founder & CEO of Navigating the Knot - a resource providing clients nationwide with clarity & guidance on *either end* of marriage, from what they should know before getting married to support & guidance surrounding the divorce process.
After working in both legal and business roles for companies like Fitbit and Zayo Group, Kim chose to leave the corporate world in 2017 to pursue what she feels is her mission in life -- to provide guidance, education, and support to others surrounding marriage and divorce.
Having gotten married and divorced in her 20s, despite having a legal background, Kim was astounded by how much she did not know going into her own divorce. She learned firsthand how little we are taught about marriage and its legal implications upfront, and she additionally discovered that there were very few tools and resources available, particularly to younger people navigating the divorce process.
In response, Kim founded Navigating the Knot as a way to share her knowledge with others and address the many needs in this space. Kim writes a blog, offers one-on-one coaching & consulting services nationwide, and is in the process of releasing a series of online courses and other downloadable content.
When she isn't assisting clients, Kim enjoys rock climbing, running, hiking, snowboarding, and mountain biking. She loves to travel, spend time with her dog (a puggle named Clover), and forge new connections.
